A Dialogic Case Study
A leading European business telecom service provider needed to move its ISDN customers in Switzerland from an end-of-life Voice over ATM system to SIP-based VoIP quickly, without disrupting service or changing customer equipment. AareNet was selected to deliver the solution, using AareSwitch and Dialogic’s IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway to meet strict requirements for full ISDN feature support, legacy PBX compatibility, and high reliability.
AareNet implemented a geo-redundant VoIP system based on the AareSwitch AS CG-100, with Dialogic’s IMG 1010 providing the legacy SS7-to-SIP connectivity needed for PSTN integration. The migration was smooth and required no CPE changes; the system ran at full load for more than a year with flawless operation, achieving greater than five-nines (>99.999%) reliability and drawing praise from the customer for having exceptionally few problems during rollout.
