JSC Ingenium helped CELL C, South Africa’s third-largest mobile operator, meet the challenge of delivering innovative SIP-based value-added services to more than eight million subscribers over its existing SS7 network without major infrastructure investment. To do this, JSC Ingenium used Dialogic® Distributed Signaling Interface (DSI) Components in its CAMEL IWF Gateway.

Dialogic enabled the gateway solution to translate SS7 signaling and messages into SIP, allowing CELL C’s conventional SS7 network and new IP-based services to work together seamlessly. The result was faster rollout of new services, additional revenue opportunities, and no expensive network build-out, while also providing scalable signaling, monitoring, and support for both TDM and IP environments.
