Hands-on Systems Saves AU$25,000 by Implementing Unified Messaging with Dialogic ® Media Gateway

Hands-on Systems, an Australian Microsoft Gold Partner and system integrator, faced a costly problem when its voicemail system failed and it considered replacing its Ericsson BusinessPhone 250 PBX. The company wanted to adopt Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 unified messaging and later Office Communications Server 2007, but doing so seemed to require a new communications infrastructure, at an estimated cost of AU$25,000.

Dialogic helped Hands-on Systems connect Exchange Server 2007 to its existing Ericsson platform using a Dialogic 2000 Media Gateway Series gateway, with support from Westan and the Ericsson ecosystem. The result was a “world’s first” integration that let Hands-on keep its PBX, saved AU$25,000, improved call handling and mobility, and gave the company hands-on expertise in unified messaging and unified communications it could now offer to customers.
