A Dialogic Case Study
Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), the second-largest bank in Spain, needed a way to let new customers open accounts remotely while still meeting strict AML/CFT identity-verification rules. The bank wanted a secure, convenient digital onboarding experience that would avoid branch visits and support video interaction, recording, and back-end integration. Dialogic helped enable this effort as part of a WebRTC-based solution.
BBVA worked with Quobis and Dialogic to implement a turnkey WebRTC onboarding platform using Dialogic® PowerMedia™ XMS for media handling, alongside Oracle WebRTC Session Controller and Quobis Sippo software. The solution allowed agents to verify identities and account terms by video, while recording and archiving sessions for five years. By March 2016, the proof of concept was successfully onboarding customers and supporting up to 30 simultaneous video sessions, with plans to scale further.
