Ålands Mobiltelefon (ÅMT), a small but highly competitive mobile and fixed-line operator in Åland, wanted to launch hosted PBX and related business services without the high cost of a major vendor’s packaged offering. After deciding to build its own solution with Asterisk, ÅMT faced a key challenge in finding a stable SS7 gateway connection for the mobile and fixed networks.
ÅMT chose the Dialogic IMG 1010 Integrated Media Gateway, which was easy to configure, flexible, and stable enough to support complex routing across SS7, ISDN, and SIP. With Dialogic, ÅMT implemented the solution in just two weeks, kept investment costs reasonable, and gained a cost-effective Centrex PBX service that improved ROI and strengthened its competitive position.
