A Dialight Case Study
Diamond Vogel, a fourth-generation family-owned paint and coatings manufacturer, faced significant lighting challenges at its Tulsa, OK facility. As a Class I Div 2 hazardous location, the plant required specialized fixtures that could withstand extreme heat, but its conventional incandescent lights failed frequently, emitted poor-quality light, and created dangerous shadows. This poor illumination hindered precise measurements in the manufacturing process and created a high maintenance burden for production supervisor Alton Wells. He sought a solution from vendor Dialight to improve safety and reduce upkeep.
Dialight implemented its SafeSite High Bay LED fixtures, which are certified for hazardous environments. The solution provided a dramatic improvement in brightness and color clarity, allowing for more accurate work and better quality control. The installation actually used fewer fixtures than before while quadrupling the light output. Furthermore, Dialight's fixtures with built-in battery backup capability vastly improved the facility's emergency egress lighting system, making it safer and far easier to maintain. The vendor's exceptional service and 10-year warranty ensured Diamond Vogel was extremely pleased with the results, which included a major reduction in maintenance and a noticeable boost in employee morale.
