Kier Group Reduces Costs, Speeds Efficiency and Centralises Payment Processing with D+H’s Bacsactive-IP Web Enterprise

Kier Group, a UK-based construction and services firm with more than 21,000 employees, faced a fragmented finance function spread across roughly 400 business units and an unstable, self‑hosted Bacs payment system whose support was being withdrawn. After an RFI and vendor evaluations, Kier selected DH Corporation’s Bacsactive‑IP Web Enterprise to replace the legacy platform and centralise payment processing.

DH Corporation implemented a SaaS, centralised bureau model using Bacsactive‑IP with HSM and workflow automation, piloting in mid‑2016 and rolling out Phase II on 6 February 2017 (raising centrally handled transactions to 42% and targeting full transition by Sept 2018). The change reduced headcount and costs (including a £6,000 HSM certificate saving), cut processing times from about 90 minutes to minutes, lowered fraud risk through unattended file delivery, and delivered near‑real‑time visibility into payment status.
