Financial Control Through Centralised Treasury at Swiss Federal Railways

Swiss Federal Railways faced fragmented, divisional treasury and payments processes, rising debt and a need to centralise cash, liquidity and payment controls. To replace multiple stand‑alone payment systems and fax/internet banking workflows, the company implemented SAP’s TRM treasury module and selected DH Corporation as the service bureau to provide SWIFT connectivity and payments integration.

DH Corporation delivered a single point of SWIFT connectivity and technical work‑arounds (message transformations, FileAct/VPN solutions) that linked SAP TRM to SBB’s banks, enabling intraday SWIFT statements to feed SAP cash and liquidity management. The consolidation eliminated multiple payment platforms, improved segregation of duties, reduced power of attorney exposure, saved two full‑time equivalents, and let Swiss Federal Railways control year‑end liquidity within CHF 20–30 million.
