Delivering a Single, Centralized Payment Model

Swiss Re, a global reinsurance firm, faced an unwieldy payments infrastructure in 2004 made up of more than ten local and proprietary systems, which drove up support costs, complicated bank integrations, and hindered cash‑management, security and control. To centralize global, high‑value payments and harmonize messaging on SWIFT standards, Swiss Re engaged DH Corporation to implement a single, centralized payments model and service‑bureau connection supporting SWIFT MT101/MT103 and MT940.

DH Corporation implemented a SWIFTNet‑based payments hub and service bureau, enabling straight‑through processing, direct electronic exchange of account statements with banks, and later adding reconciliation and compliance‑filter services. Within about a year for Europe, Asia and the Middle East the project replaced ten systems with one platform, significantly improving inbound/outbound information delivery, global cash visibility and consolidation of outstanding positions, while cutting maintenance overheads and simplifying bank connectivity; the solution was subsequently extended to the Americas.
