Case Study: Barclays achieves global payments transformation and 95% STP with DH Corporation

A DH Corporation Case Study

Preview of the Barclays Case Study

Barclays the Global Payments Journey

Barclays set out to transform its Global Payments unit—more than 1,000 staff across 13 locations—to expand from single‑currency domestic operations into a resilient, scalable global payments business. The bank needed a standardized platform that supported multiple channels and payment types, real‑time monitoring and reporting, flexible routing and a high straight‑through processing (STP) rate (target ≥95%). After evaluating vendors, Barclays selected Global PAYplus from DH Corporation to meet those functional and partnership requirements.

DH Corporation implemented Global PAYplus, integrating it with roughly 50 surrounding channel, messaging and core banking applications and using a phased migration with middleware routing to avoid customer disruption. The inbound credits migration completed in November 2011 and the outbound migration was on track for Q2 2013; the rollout delivered high transaction accuracy, strong customer satisfaction, the ability to run high‑ and low‑value payments on the same system, follow‑the‑sun operational hubs, and supported Barclays’ volumes (about 200,000 high‑value UK payments/day), enabling business growth while helping the bank achieve its ~95% STP and operational targets.
