Bank of China needed to replace a patchwork of country‑level payment systems with a single, global platform to centralize payment information, internalize channels, support overseas RMB business, and reduce maintenance costs. After a year‑long vendor selection the bank picked DH Corporation (together with IBM) to supply the payments hub solution—DH Corporation’s payment services hub (Global PAYplus)—with IBM’s Payments Integration Platform providing the integration layer.
DH Corporation’s hub, integrated via IBM PIP, was rolled out in three phases covering 30+ branches across APAC, Europe‑Africa and North America (14 APAC branches in year one and five U.S. branches by March 2016). The new platform delivered a single internal payment channel, centralized data, and higher STP rates (exceeding 97% in Sydney, Tokyo, London and Frankfurt), reduced distribution and maintenance costs, and revenue uplift—commission income in Sydney and Tokyo grew 27.96% and 25.02% year‑over‑year in 2014.
