How Power BI is fighting asymmetries in sports and physical activity in Lisbon

Universidade Lusófona, the largest private university in Portugal, was challenged by a public entity to create a web portal displaying data on sports and physical activity across the Lisbon Metropolitan Area. Without an internal technology team, the university needed a partner to design the portal and gather the necessary data. They selected vendor DevScope for its proven track record with similar projects.

DevScope developed the "Observatório Metropolitano do Desporto e da Actividade Física" portal using the Umbraco CMS and a central Power BI report to transform and visualize the data. The solution successfully brought together 18 municipalities to share data for the first time, highlighting infrastructure imbalances and informing urban planning. The portal was launched to a positive reception, fostering new collaboration between the municipalities and changing how they make joint decisions.
