Case Study: Idaho National Laboratory achieves streamlined issue management and DOE CAS compliance with DevonWay

A DevonWay Case Study

Idaho National Laboratory improves quality and safety sitewide with DevonWay software

Idaho National Laboratory (INL), a U.S. Department of Energy research center with multiple complexes and hundreds of standalone applications, faced fragmented Contractor Assurance System (CAS) data, duplicated effort, poor visibility, and difficulty meeting DOE CAS requirements. To consolidate processes and improve reporting, INL selected DevonWay and deployed DevonWay’s Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) suite—later rolled out across the lab as the integrated “LabWay” solution.

DevonWay configured an easy‑to‑use, integrated suite (Issues Management, Non‑Conformance Reporting, Audits & Assessments, Action Tracking, etc.) that replaced siloed tools, enabled real‑time reporting and notifications, and let managers modify reports without IT. As a result, DevonWay helped INL increase CAS usage, save staff time on reporting and administration, reduce overdue corrective actions and the average age of conditions, boost management engagement, meet DOE CAS requirements, and earn national recognition (NLIT Project of the Year).
