Numerica Credit Union - Customer Case Study

Numerica Credit Union, one of Washington’s largest credit unions, needed a stronger way to protect members’ financial and personal data while meeting PCI-DSS, DFI, and NCUA compliance requirements. The organization wanted to move beyond administrative policies and use technical controls to prevent data loss and reduce the risk of malware or unauthorized USB devices on its endpoints, including support for both Windows and Mac environments. DeviceLock was selected as the vendor, using its endpoint DLP and USB control capabilities.

DeviceLock implemented its endpoint DLP modules to enforce USB and port restrictions, support approved-device workflows, and provide user notifications through customizable pop-up messages. Numerica reported a smooth rollout using SCCM, fast deployment within about 30 days from demo to purchase, and strong support from DeviceLock during testing. The result was better enforcement of existing security policy, improved staff and management confidence, and plans to expand into DeviceLock’s content and network security features, including OCR-based content control for scanned financial documents.
