Momenta Pharmaceuticals, a Cambridge, Massachusetts biotechnology company, needed stronger protection for its valuable intellectual property and employee data while supporting highly mobile scientists who frequently use laptops and portable storage devices. The company also had to align with Massachusetts Regulation 201 CMR 17.00. To address these risks, Momenta turned to DeviceLock along with PGP Whole Disk Encryption and IronKey secure USB drives.

DeviceLock implemented endpoint port and device control with Active Directory integration and audit/whitelisting features, allowing Momenta to restrict network access to only company-issued IronKeys and other approved devices for each employee. As a result, Momenta gained centralized control over removable media, discovered thousands of previously connected USB devices during audit mode, and reduced data leakage risk across its production network. DeviceLock helped the company put a layered security policy in place quickly and effectively.
