Gazpromneft-Khantos, one of Gazprom Neft’s main oil extraction enterprises in Russia, needed a stronger way to protect its corporate information and meet internal security standards. The IT Security Division was looking for a unified multi-tier protection system, with a specific focus on controlling and tracing employee access to peripheral devices and local ports on endpoint computers. After evaluating several options, it selected DeviceLock DLP from DeviceLock.

DeviceLock implemented software that could be centrally deployed and managed through Active Directory and Group Policy, while logging, controlling, and auditing access to removable media, printers, and other local ports. According to Gazpromneft-Khantos, the solution was easy to install and configure, reduced the risk of internal leaks of confidential data, and helped address a substantial portion of its IT security issues. While no hard numeric impact was provided, DeviceLock delivered strong usability, compliance support, and broad device-control functionality.
