City of London Police - Customer Case Study

The City of London Police needed a stronger way to protect highly sensitive information as part of the Home Office IMPACT program, which increased the need for secure sharing between police forces. To prevent data leakage and secure its electronic borders, the force turned to DeviceLock and its endpoint device security solution, DeviceLock DLP, to control access to removable media and other peripheral devices.

DeviceLock implemented centralized device management and audit control, allowing the police to block unauthorized USB, FireWire, WiFi, Bluetooth, CD-ROM, floppy, serial/parallel, PDA, and smartphone use, while enforcing encryption and read-only policies where needed. The result was a more secure environment for transferring data to portable media, with robust monitoring and stronger confidence in information security; the solution has been in successful use since 2005.
