A DeviceLock Case Study
Bury+Partners, a leading Austin-based civil engineering firm, needed to protect valuable intellectual property as employees worked late on large CADD and project files and increasingly used personal devices such as music players, phones, and flash drives. The company was concerned about accidental or intentional data leakage from its network and wanted a way to enforce policy without slowing down productive work.
Bury+Partners implemented DeviceLock DLP to monitor local workstation activity and control data leakage channels across its Windows environment, using Active Directory and Group Policy for easier deployment and management. DeviceLock was rolled out to about 400 workstations and began with monitoring of ports and drives, with plans to expand to device blocking and remote offices; the company also noted smooth deployment and stronger visibility into printing and removable-media activity, helping support IP protection without adding around-the-clock IT staffing.
