MergeIT - Customer Case Study

MergeIT, a UK managed service provider, evaluated Device42 while onboarding two customers: a recruitment-focused financial services firm (Business A) and a travel/insurance company (Business B). Both environments suffered from minimal documentation, aging infrastructure, tight onboarding timelines (one month), performance problems, compliance requirements, and limited visibility for capacity planning and application dependencies.

By deploying Device42’s Main Appliance, Remote Collector and Windows Discovery Service, MergeIT automated discovery, produced application dependency maps and continuous inventory, and surfaced capacity and security issues. The results were dramatic: onboarding dropped from ~20–30 man-days to 2 man-days (reported improvements up to 90–140%), daily BAU health-check time fell by 75–85%, two staff were redeployed, and critical infrastructure problems were identified and remediated—improving uptime, compliance and operational efficiency.
