African Clean Energy (ACE) provides off-grid household energy solutions in Lesotho, Uganda and Cambodia and developed the ACE 1 cookstove to combat energy poverty and indoor air pollution. Facing paper-heavy, slow sales and reporting processes, spotty rural connectivity, and a need for reliable baseline research from remote teams, ACE turned to Device Magic to digitize field data collection and streamline sales, maintenance and supply-chain workflows.

Using Device Magic mobile forms — with offline capability, geo‑tagging and a Salesforce integration — ACE sped up and improved sales and research data collection, built a 6,000–7,000 customer database, and tightened inventory and maintenance records. The ACE 1 cuts fuel use by about 70% (50% fuel cost savings vs charcoal) and ACE recorded an 81% reduction in energy expenses in Lesotho; Device Magic’s forms also enable energy‑expense surveys that show customers how savings can cover the $100 stove, helping ACE scale sales and reduce operational costs.
