How TodayTix Increased Ticket Purchases by 9% with One Simple Experiment

TodayTix is a mobile app that helps theatergoers find discounted and last-minute tickets, lotteries, and Rush offers. They discovered new users were overlooking key features like Rush and Lottery purchases because the app’s onboarding didn’t explain them, contributing to low early purchases and registrations.

Using Taplytics, TodayTix A/B tested a longer onboarding that added an extra card explaining Rush and Lottery features. Contrary to expectations, the educational flow increased registrations by 59.7% and purchases by 9.1%, so the longer onboarding was rolled out as the new standard.
