Educational iOS Game Maker Uses Mobile A/B Testing to Try Hunches

Launchpad Toys, a Y Combinator–backed creator of children’s apps including Toontastic Jr. Pirates, suspected their initial scene-selection experience could be improved but faced long delays and lost opportunities whenever changes required App Store updates. They needed a faster way to validate UX hunches without shipping new builds.

Using Taplytics’ mobile A/B testing, Launchpad Toys ran a code-based experiment comparing the original auto‑spinning scene selector to a manual selection variant. In under three weeks the test drove a 27% lift in users modifying scenes and doubled in‑app revenue.
