Western Sydney University brings anorectal biofeedback device to clinical trials with Design Momentum

Western Sydney University faced the challenge of providing anorectal biofeedback therapy, an effective but physically demanding treatment for fecal incontinence and chronic constipation that was restricted to hospitals with long waitlists. The university engaged Design Momentum to help develop a discreet, at-home IoT device to make this therapy more accessible.

Design Momentum developed and integrated the necessary sensors, electronics, and battery technology into a small, fully integrated product suitable for reliable and comfortable home use. The device, now in clinical trials, is receiving extremely positive feedback from both patients and therapists on its ease of use, comfort, and intuitive training value.
