Ingham Institute advances MRI-Linac treatment with Design Momentum's 360° patient rotation system

Design Momentum was engaged by the Ingham Institute of Applied Medical Research to address the challenge of creating a fully operational rotating patient couch for their world-first MRI-Linac machine. This system needed to accurately and safely position a patient within the highly restricted architecture of the high-field 'inline' system, with remote adjustment and real-time monitoring being critical for effective cancer treatment.

Design Momentum designed and manufactured a bespoke rotating patient couch device that met the project's stringent requirements for precision and patient safety. The final device was reported to work well and exceeded expectations, allowing clinicians to pinpoint and treat the most aggressive parts of tumors with greater accuracy. Design Momentum continues to support the Ingham team with ongoing testing and development of this important technology.
