A Design Culture Case Study
Picker, an organization working with NHS England, faced the challenge of combining two complex and difficult-to-manage NHS Staff Survey websites into a single, efficient platform. The existing sites were particularly cumbersome for internal teams to update, requiring extensive manual effort to publish new survey results and data. Design Culture was engaged to create a new website that would be simple to manage and built for future growth.
Design Culture developed a solution using a Gatsby frontend with WordPress as a headless CMS. This technical approach allowed for the creation of a bespoke FTP tool for bulk uploading files, which dramatically reduced the manual workload for the client's teams. The new site delivered significant performance improvements, including up to 60% faster page load speeds for users. The project resulted in a 33% increase in average session duration, a 13% increase in pages viewed per session, and a 23% reduction in bounce rate.
