Case Study: Marriott Anticipates Guest Needs with Density

A Density Case Study

Preview of the Marriott Case Study

How Marriott Uses Real-Time Data to Anticipate Customer Needs

Marriott's Bethesda North hotel sought to improve guest experience by anticipating needs in high-traffic amenities like its fitness center and M-Club lounge. The operations team, led by Mike Wilson, was challenged by the inability to accurately track real-time occupancy, making it difficult to know when to restock supplies or deploy staff. They turned to the vendor Density for a solution using its people counting sensors.

Density installed its Depth Processing Units (DPUs) to provide real-time and predictive occupancy data. This allowed Marriott's staff to proactively manage resources, ensuring spaces were never understaffed and amenities were always serviced. The results included a more efficient operation, an elevated guest experience, and the elimination of guesswork in resource deployment, enabling the hotel to uphold its standard of "hosting brilliantly."
