The Bültel Group Regains Control of Its Data with Data Virtualization

The Bültel International Fashion Group, a mostly family-owned company behind brands such as CALAMAR, Hattric and the Camel Active license, faced rapid growth and complex, changing supply chains that its 30‑year COBOL-based ERP could no longer support. Over decades the application landscape had fragmented into unconnected, out-of-date data silos, preventing coherent data management and blocking efforts to replace the bespoke system with an off‑the‑shelf solution.

Working with QuinScape, Bültel implemented the Denodo Platform and a cross-functional team ran a pilot to standardize, normalize and virtualize data: five virtual databases (master data, finance, sales, logistics, production) were created from ~120 legacy tables and links restored. Within three weeks they migrated the tables and processed about 15,000 processes, delivering a single source of truth, improved data quality, reusable data products and a path to modernize legacy systems while enabling more efficient business processes.
