A Denodo Technologies Case Study
RMIT University, a public research university in Melbourne with about 97,000 higher and vocational students, needed to modernize its data platforms to handle growing architectural complexity and increasing data volumes. The university’s goal was to create asset-based, scalable datasets and a comprehensive digital system that could access and deliver data from student and staff touchpoints across all locations with minimal IT dependency.
Using the Denodo Platform as a unified data access layer, RMIT integrated SaaS sources (Salesforce, Workday, Adobe, Canvas, Office 365) and on-prem systems to build a logical data fabric that feeds its enterprise insights portal. This approach enabled near real-time virtual data marts, simplified delivery across cloud and on-premises systems, sped up BI time-to-delivery, reduced costs and resources required, and supported a scalable data-as-a-service model for analytics and operational decision-making.
