LeasePlan Realizes its Next-Gen Data Strategy with a Logical Data Fabric

LeasePlan, a global Car‑as‑a‑Service leader managing approximately 1.8 million vehicles across 29 countries, set out to transform from an analog to a fully digital business. The company faced fragmented, siloed data across heterogeneous sources (SAP, Salesforce, Snowflake, telematics, web analytics, unstructured files, etc.), which hindered decision‑making, regulatory compliance and the creation of new data‑driven services such as AI/ML use cases and improved customer experiences.

LeasePlan implemented a technology‑agnostic logical data fabric using the Denodo Platform as the core of a Global Data Hub, connected to SAP BW/4HANA, Snowflake, Collibra, Tableau and other tools. Built via an agile two‑year program (completed in 2022), the solution unified access, metadata, quality and governance, enabled self‑service analytics, supported seamless cloud migrations with zero BI downtime, and delivered tangible outcomes like predictive vehicle maintenance, automated scheduling and better insights for fleet managers.
