ISTAT modernizes data integration across 200 sources with Denodo Technologies

ISTAT, the Italian National Institute of Statistics, faced the challenge of modernizing its data infrastructure to accommodate a shift from decennial censuses to annual sampling. This required a new approach to integrate its roughly 200 administrative and survey data sources more effectively. To address this, ISTAT turned to Denodo Technologies and implemented the Denodo Platform.

The solution from Denodo utilized data virtualization to integrate ISTAT's heterogeneous data sources in real time without data replication. This redefined the organization's data acquisition, processing, and governance, making it easier and faster to access and manage data. The Denodo Platform enabled the seamless implementation of a register-based analytics framework, allowing ISTAT to connect more complex data systems for its statistical analysis.
