Hastings Deering, a Sime Darby Industrial Cat® dealer with more than 3,500 employees across 26 business centers, was two years into a five‑year digital transformation when it struggled with a complex data landscape: multiple ERPs and Caterpillar systems, fragmented data silos, inconsistent and untrusted data, and slow traditional delivery methods that impeded rapid data sharing and time-to-insight.

To address this, Hastings Deering deployed the Denodo Platform to create a logical data layer and enterprise data marketplace powered by data virtualization. The solution supported six use cases—including Parts forecasting—enabled governed self-service analytics and data catalogs, improved data trust and faster delivery to tools like Power BI, and accelerated forecasting and value creation (Denodo cites rapid payback and strong ROI for customers).
