Fresenius Medical Care Transforms Patient Care with the Denodo Platform

Fresenius Medical Care, a global leader in renal care with 3,732 dialysis clinics and over 300,000 patients in its network, needed faster, more governed access to diverse enterprise data. Its SAP-driven ERP coexisted with many non‑SAP and legacy systems that were stitched together by slow, resource‑intensive middleware, creating integration bottlenecks and governance risks around sensitive patient data.

Fresenius implemented the Denodo Platform to virtualize and unify data into a semantic fabric—integrating SAP BW, data lakes, SharePoint, Anaplan (via REST), legacy sources and more—while leveraging Presto MPP and caching for speed. The result was real‑time, consistent access in SAP Analytics Cloud and other tools, harmonized web services for legacy data, faster response times, reduced data silos and stronger centralized data governance for improved analytics and compliance.
