First Republic Bank Takes the Denodo Platform Company-Wide to Gain a Unified View over All Lines of Business, with Unprecedented Agility

First Republic Bank, a relationship-focused financial services firm, faced fragmented data after years of organic growth and acquisitions: teams relied on spreadsheets, siloed SQL Server instances, one-off extracts and heavy ETL, which caused duplication, delays and distrust in the data. Leadership needed centralized, governed access and a data-as-a-service model that would reduce IT’s one-off work and enable a seamless migration to Snowflake without disrupting business users.

First Republic implemented the Denodo Platform’s data virtualization to create a logical data access layer—initially in Private Wealth Management and then company-wide—providing real-time, governed views of disparate sources without replication and abstracting the Snowflake migration. The change produced real-time dashboards, faster development (from months to weeks), improved cross‑department collaboration, reduced replication and costs, and a transformed IT operating model supporting consistent governance and faster time-to-insight.
