A Denodo Technologies Case Study
Estes Express Lines, the largest privately held freight carrier in North America with a vast network of terminals and vehicles, needed to accelerate shipments and give customers real-time visibility. The company struggled with fragmented data—paper bills of lading, manual entry, and siloed cloud and on‑prem systems—which caused duplication, errors, slow access (data requests could take days) and added friction for drivers and IT.
Estes implemented the Denodo Platform to create a unified, virtualized data-access layer (data fabric) that leaves sources in place while providing real-time views and “digital twins” of shipments. Drivers enter data once and GPS/telematics/camera feeds are integrated, enabling self-service analytics and APIs in days (vs. 4–6 weeks), a first project live in six weeks, reduced manual entry and errors, improved customer tracking, and about 10% savings in infrastructure and labor.
