Drillinginfo Pumps Data-driven Applications Faster Using Denodo’s Data Virtualization Platform

Drillinginfo, a leading SaaS and data‑analytics provider for oil & gas decision support, gathers and enriches regulatory, production, rig, geospatial and OCR data to build predictive models and sell analytics applications to E&P, finance and services customers. Rapid product delivery was constrained by slow, inconsistent access to multiple data sources—conventional ETL workflows took 1–2 weeks and developers often had to access sources directly, putting release timelines at risk.

To solve this, Drillinginfo deployed the Denodo data virtualization platform as a logical data warehouse above DI Classic, DI Desktop, the data warehouse and unstructured sources, publishing virtual views and cached REST/JDBC services for core entities. The result: 24 data services across 11 key entities powering apps like Production Workspace and Royalty‑info, provisioning time dropped from 1–2 weeks to under a day, the virtualization layer is managed by one full‑time developer and a part‑time admin, and 20–30 internal developers plus external customers now build data‑driven applications much faster.
