DNB ASA, a leading financial services group based in Oslo, set out to build a cloud-based data science lab but faced a complex, hybrid data landscape—an AWS transactional data lake, multiple on-premises warehouses, and a Cloudera streaming setup. The challenge was to transition to the cloud without disrupting business continuity and to stop data scientists spending most of their time on data preparation instead of model building.

DNB implemented the Denodo Platform as a virtual data marketplace and single delivery layer on top of its heterogeneous sources. With Denodo’s Data Catalog and integration with tools like JupyterLab and RStudio, data scientists can quickly discover and use datasets, enabling focus on models for product recommendations, personalized pricing and other use cases while simplifying cloud migration and future business reporting.
