City Furniture Leveraged the Denodo Platform to Establish a Logical Data Fabric in Support of a Digital Transformation

City Furniture is a fast-growing, Florida-based furniture retailer (16 City Furniture and 13 Ashley HomeStore locations, about $1B in annual sales) that needed a digital transformation to support rapid growth. The company struggled with slow, resource-heavy ETL, decentralized operational and transactional data, and limited visibility into deliveries, scheduling, and online sales—issues that constrained analytics and hampered faster, data-driven decision making.

City Furniture implemented the Denodo Platform to create a logical data fabric and virtualized a wide range of sources (spreadsheets, cloud databases, IBM iSeries, BigQuery, etc.) into a single semantic layer. That virtual layer provided APIs, caching, and a unified delivery layer for BI and operational apps, enabled automated reports and combined Google Analytics with transactional data, delivered 40 new actionable reports, boosted online insights and revenue, and established a single source of truth that accelerated decisions and fostered a data-driven culture.
