Autodesk Successfully Transforms its Revenue Model Using Denodo Data Virtualization

Autodesk, a leader in 3D design and engineering software, faced a major challenge when it moved from perpetual licensing to a subscription-based model: its legacy BI and data infrastructure could not support finance needs for tracking subscriptions, renewals, and payments. Data was spread across OLTP systems, flat files, geospatial sources, streaming logs and a data lake, creating slow, inflexible reporting and hindering the company’s transition.

Autodesk implemented the Denodo Platform as a logical data warehouse and data virtualization layer, creating a single enterprise access point that eliminated much ETL and data copying. The solution enabled near–real-time payment processing via SAP ECC web services, centralized security and compliance enforcement, and faster, more collaborative analytics — improving agility, performance and profitability during the shift to subscriptions.
