Asurion, a global provider of device protection and premium digital-home support, needed a next‑generation data architecture to deliver predictive analytics, IoT capabilities and faster time-to-market for new services. Its legacy on‑premises systems couldn’t scale to support international expansion or the new premium support offerings, and strict contractual and regulatory rules barred wholesale data migration, requiring a centralized point of security and governance.

Asurion moved to the cloud and implemented Denodo data virtualization in a three‑tier hybrid architecture—running Denodo both on‑premises and in AWS with a secure bridge, plus Layer7 for security and TIBCO Spotfire for BI. The solution created a single logical access layer to disparate on‑prem and cloud sources, enabling rapid provisioning of services (weeks vs. months), improved data discovery and predictive analytics across varied data types, role‑based access control, granular usage tracking, and compliance with stringent customer and regulatory security requirements.
