One of the United States’ leading asset management firms — a subsidiary of a large insurance company — was overwhelmed by rapidly growing, disparate data from seven+ systems and external feeds. Inconsistent, hard-to-integrate data undermined reporting accuracy and customer service, and the data integration team could not deliver timely, trustworthy information to internal users and clients.

The company built an enterprise data services platform centered on Denodo’s Data Virtualization, augmented with RESTful linked-data services, ATOM feeds and a MongoDB layer for user-specific attributes. The unified virtual data layer improved governance and security, cut join response times to a few hundred milliseconds, reduced server load through push-down optimization and caching, and delivered seven widely used data services in the first year (saving thousands of development hours) with many more services planned.
