Festo, a leading manufacturer of factory and process automation solutions, wanted to improve productivity and customer experience by making internal data easier to access through GenAI tools like FestoGPT and Skillground. The challenge was securely combining structured and unstructured data while dealing with governance, security, metadata quality, and budget constraints. Festo worked with Denodo Technologies and Denodo Platform 9.1 to support this effort.

Denodo Technologies implemented a metadata-driven, API-based data fabric approach using Denodo’s AI SDK, connecting the LLM to source systems through a single interface instead of duplicating data. This enabled natural-language access with strong access controls, better semantic accuracy, and lower storage and privacy risks. The result was faster GenAI development, improved sales and KPI reporting, easier project data search and sharing, and a single interface for customer-facing staff to access product and pricing data.
