World-First Dematic Stocktaking Solution Just The Ticket For The Just Group

The Just Group, a major Australian fashion retailer, faced a costly and labor-intensive challenge with its twice-yearly stocktakes across roughly 1,000 stores. Their old process, using aging portable data terminals, required stores to close until the count was complete. Dematic was engaged to improve this operation and eliminate the need to physically connect scanners to point-of-sale registers.

Dematic implemented its innovative RapidStocktake solution, utilizing Bluetooth-enabled MT2000 Smart Scanners to wirelessly transfer data. This eliminated the need for expensive new WLAN infrastructure. The solution reduced an average stocktake from three hours to under two, saving an estimated four person-hours per store and allowing stores to open an hour earlier. This resulted in significant labor savings, the potential for increased sales, and a reduction in freight costs for shipping the equipment between locations.
