UNILAB, the leading pharmaceutical and healthcare products manufacturer in the Philippines, faced significant supply chain challenges due to the country's complex geography and its own rapid growth, which saw its product range expand to over 2,000 SKUs. The primary challenges were to improve order fulfillment accuracy and productivity in a demanding environment prone to unpredictable disruptions. Dematic implemented an integrated logistics system managed by its Dematic iQ software, which controlled new paperless picking technologies including Pick-to-Light and handheld wireless terminals. The solution featured an intelligent zone-routing conveyor to minimize picker travel. This significantly improved order picking efficiency, productivity, and accuracy, allowing UNILAB to handle increased daily volumes and seasonal peaks while providing comprehensive track and trace capabilities for every item.
