Stop & Shop, a grocery industry leader, aimed to improve customer response and reduce warehouse operation costs. They partnered with the vendor Dematic to evaluate and implement an automated distribution center solution using the 3000/RF Rotating Fork Storage & Retrieval Machine and an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).

Dematic implemented a large-scale automated system for Stop & Shop's 1.3 million square foot facility. The solution included the 3000/RF SRMs for handling pallets and voice-activated picking for order fulfillment. This allowed the facility to run 24/7 with a quick return on investment, providing benefits such as increased inventory accuracy, reduced product damage, lower staffing overhead, a safer work environment, and improved productivity.
