New HQ delivers improved supply chain performance for Blackmores

Blackmores, Australia's leading natural health supplements supplier, faced a challenge after years of growth had forced its operations to be split across multiple facilities. The company needed to consolidate its manufacturing and distribution under one roof to realize new efficiencies and significant cost savings. They partnered with Dematic to design a new integrated distribution center.

Dematic implemented a flow-through distribution center equipped with smart conveyors, Voice Picking, RF, and Pick-to-Light systems, all integrated by their PickDIRECTOR software. This solution delivered supply chain savings of $1 million per annum for Blackmores. The new systems also doubled full-case picking speeds with half the labor and significantly improved overall order accuracy and productivity.
