a major American retailing company, which specializes in women's apparel, needed to centralize its e-commerce fulfillment. Previously, its operation was spread across five separate distribution centers with inconsistent processes. They partnered with Dematic to create a new, dedicated e-fulfillment center that could support future growth, improve order accuracy, and increase efficiency to meet high customer demand for same-day shipping.

Dematic implemented an integrated solution featuring a Warehouse Control System, an automated storage and retrieval system (the Dematic Multishuttle), and automated sortation. This system centralizes the processing of over 90,000 SKUs and enables the picking, packing, and shipping of up to 100,000 orders per day with extremely high accuracy. The results consolidated five facilities into one, allowing the retailer to ship orders received by 3:00 p.m. the same day while reducing the cost per order and maintaining competitive pricing.
