PFSweb, a third-party logistics provider, sought to increase productivity from a rate of 45 order lines per operator per hour and improve upon an unacceptable 99.7% picking accuracy rate in their fulfillment operations. They also lacked real-time information on the picking process. To address this challenge, they partnered with Dematic for a solution.

Dematic implemented a system using their software and mobile PickCarts equipped with put-to-light displays. This solution allowed operators to pick items for multiple customer orders in a single pass through the warehouse. The implementation by Dematic dramatically boosted pick rates to 180 lines per operator per hour and increased order accuracy to 99.85%. The system also provided the desired real-time reporting on orders and operator performance.
