HP Hood Dairy, a major US dairy operator, sought to improve customer response and reduce warehouse operation costs. To meet these goals, they partnered with vendor Dematic to evaluate and implement a High Density Automated Storage solution at their new centralized refrigerated warehouse in Winchester, Virginia.

Dematic provided a complete turnkey solution for the new 45,000 sq. foot facility. This included constructing the building and implementing a four-aisle automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) with four unit load SRMs. The system is designed to handle 100 loads in and out per hour, operates 24/7 with full redundancy, and provides real-time inventory management integrated with Hood's warehouse management system.
