Gold Kist, a major poultry processor, faced challenges with inventory control and labor productivity at its freezer warehouse facilities. The company commissioned vendor Dematic to perform a Discovery Study, which identified the need for a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) to improve accuracy and operational efficiency.

Dematic implemented its mature WMS solution at two facilities in an aggressive timeframe, completing each project in under two months. The system utilized RF terminals and advanced lot control to improve productivity, warehouse utilization, shipping accuracy, and inventory control. This rapid deployment allowed Gold Kist to realize the identified cost savings quickly and become fully operational at two sites in the time it typically takes to commission a single system.
