GENCO, a major North American third-party logistics company, faced challenges with its manual logistics operations at Dell Return Centers. The manual processes created inefficiencies in processing returned products, increased labor costs, and hindered accurate tracking and routing. To address this, GENCO partnered with Dematic for an automated conveyor solution.
Dematic implemented a customized conveyor system designed to handle trays of computer parts. The solution included sortation to route products to manual unload stations and a separate conveyor for recycling packaging materials. This automated system from Dematic increased processing capacity to eight cases per minute, greatly improved productivity and order accuracy, and significantly reduced both labor and material handling costs for GENCO.
